LANTANA HYSKARIS

Even from a young age, Lantana was a rebellious soul. Like many Rava, she was born in the Golmore Jungle and grew up just like every Viera citizen in her village. She lived there for several years with her younger sibling - until it was revealed that her sibling was male. Despite the mantra that their matriarchal society tried so hard to get into her head, Lantana refused to give up the bond she shared with her brother. Late into the night, she followed him when his chosen mentor took him away from their village.While wholly unprepared for the hardships that male viera faced, Lantana was determined to never lose sight of her brother. For over three months, she remained hidden, utilizing her skills as a huntress to stalk the two males from the shadows. Despite her best efforts, however, she was still caught by the male that mentored her brother - who, despite tradition dictating that she should be punished and exiled, simply pretended that he had not seen her.Confused, but otherwise relieved, Lantana continued to follow them. Over time, she watched and learned from them the skills she needed to survive on her own in the world, and found that the skills came naturally to her. Not so much, however, to her younger brother, Iria. In a freak accident, Iria slipped up during a hunt and found himself at the deadly end of a viper's temper. However, the viper's fangs did not find purchase on Iria - but instead his mentor, who put himself between the young boy and the angry beast.Despite her better judgement, Lantana made the killing blow on the beast before it could cause any more harm, joining her brother by the elder male's side. In his last few moments, the elder revealed his true identity - and why he did not attack or shun Lantana when she was found. He was their sire by blood - who had eyes only for their mother in that little village in the jungle. When time it came for Iria to leave, their father jumped at the chance to become his mentor, even though the notion itself was taboo.Faced with the sudden grief of losing their father, Lantana and Iria vowed never to leave each others side if they could help it. Knowing that Lantana would be exiled or worse should she ever return home, they decided instead to make their way East, to Kugane. Life at first was tough for them, as they knew perfectly how to survive in a thick jungle - but not in a bustling city. Over time, however, they made good names for themselves. Iria found himself swept up in the arts, and found that he had a great talent in tattoos.Lantana, on the other hand, had a difficult time fitting in. Her talent in wilderness survival saw that her wanderlust would not leave her alone. She set off to explore every nook and corner that Kugane had to offer - and eventually (literally) bumped into a handsome Raen gentleman by name of Mochiuji Uzuka. Through him, she learned of the opportunity to travel as a dancer and performer, which she took in a heartbeat with her brother's blessing.As time went on, she spent much time with Mochiuji, and even put her dancing skills to the test with performances at Kuriko's Hostel. With each day passed, the two grew closer together, and it is clear to many that there was something between them from the start. However, with the nature of Mochiuji's work, and with Lantana often being away for months at a time, they agreed to keep their relationship open. There would always be a place for each other in their hearts - with room to spare, wheresoever their lives would take them.
